Esensia Gardens

Esensia Gardens is a craft sungrown cannabis farm out of Sonoma Valley, founded by childhood friends Ben Blake and Marley Lovell and built around a decade of proprietary cannabis genetics developed entirely in house. Over three seasons from 2020 to 2023 I shot the full breadth of their visual content.

The studio cannabis photography covered their strain catalog across flower portraits, top cola, 1:1 through 5:1 macro photography, and microscope level trichome imagery, alongside nugshots, packaging, and finished cannabis product photography. On location I documented the farm through editorial shoots, garden timelapses, astrophotography, and drone. Videography included flower video and brand content across their platforms.

During that period Esensia stacked awards at both the Emerald Cup and the California State Fair, taking home gold medals and Best of California trophies for strains including Buddha’s Hand, Lemon OG, Maracuya, and Rose Petal. The photography ran across their web presence, marketing, and brand materials throughout their run.
